I have 27 years experience in the telecoms industry including 8 years in a technical capacity within a supplier organisation, 2 years in an operational role and 17 years in a consultative environment. I have worked in many different market sectors (both public and private) and completed assignments in Europe.
My consultancy experience covers the main phases of network development including, audit, design and development, procurement, implementation and operations. With a strong background in corporate voice networking, call management, unified messaging, call centres, integrated directory and systems management, I have been able to understand and design IP Telephony solutions, working with the vendors, often in trial conditions to resolve issues arising from the implementation. Having experience in both managed operational network services as well as a strong technical background I am well placed to work with clients on practical, manageable and affordable solutions across communications platforms and technologies. As a problem solver, I have been successful in Project Managing the delivery of complex technology solutions. I am able to communicate well with both suppliers and clients to ensure that expectations are met on both sides

Evaluation of IPT solutions for the Institution of Civil Engineers. ICE are a long standing client for whom I have provided strategic and technical consultancy as well as project management services particularly in their recent office move in the Docklands.
Infrastructure audit for Vertex Data Sciences leading to significant savings in operational costs and the weeding out of un-used and legacy services, enabling the cost justification for further investments into IPT.
Project Management and technical design consultancy for the replacement of a legacy managed voice service for Halliburton with Cisco IPT.
Managed services contract review for KBR (Kellogg Brown & Root) following a corporate re-structure resulting in the setting up of an internal telecoms team slashing the annual budget by over 50%. In addition, I have been involved with the recommendations for the deployment of IPT and for further procurement of telecoms services in a competitive environment.
Gratte Brothers Design and procurement of an integrated communications strategy to improve the data WAN and then provide a platform for the roll-out of converged voice and mobile services. Construction and presentation of the business case for board approval. I have been responsible for the Project Management of the roll-out of VoIP services to other corporate sites, improving the management and reporting for the organisation as a whole.
St Albans District Council Implementation Project Management of a Meridian PBX and all associated infrastructure.
Hertsmere Borough Council PBX audit and assessment on the need to upgrade or replace the existing PBX. Established the case for upgrading the in-house PBX based on cost and practicality.
Shell International Benchmarking exercise to establish telecoms expenditure in the UK and Western Europe.
Eurocontrol Value for Money study and telecoms audit for this international organisation based in Brussels. Working for the Internal Audit office, my role was to co-ordinate the activities of my consultancy team in assessing the costs and potential savings for both capital and revenue items, applying the experience of the "more competitive" UK against that of a newly liberalised market.
Dibb Lupton Alsop (DLA) Network audit on their national private network resulting in savings of 30%.
Cable & Wireless Communications Project Manager for the migration of a lease line PBX network to a hybrid, VPN solution.
Racal Telecom The provision and implementation of test plans designed to ensure the functionality of new releases of Ericsson AXE VPN software. This included the construction of a multi-vendor 'test' network, supporting the testing engineers and working with technical staff for problem resolution.
Derwent Information Ltd Provided Project Management and on-going advice for an IT led Business re-organisation.
London Borough of Southwark Provided business consultancy to LBS in determining both the technical and operational problems associated with the call centre operation used in the revenue services section.
Cable & Wireless Communications Design Consultant for the development and roll-out of telecommunication services for existing outsourced contracts.
Ericsson Limited Bid support for a proposal to provide public switching equipment to a carrier looking to develop its VPN services. Following the award of the contract, project managed the VPN software design, including definition, design support, testing and implementation.
BAT Industries Evaluation of new systems to support modern voice technology, including a new networked PBX and an integrated dealer board system.
National Audit Office Carried out a value-for-money audit on the Benefits Agency Network.
Telstra Corporation Project Managed the implementation of a ISR Operation. Tasks included; search and selection of premises; assistance with, and management of the tender for switching equipment; budget preparation for procurement and operating costs; project management of building fit-out and switch installation; production and evaluation of tenders for the office PBX; and project management of the structured cabling installation.
Telstra Corporation Limited Part of a large bid team to provide a response to the tender for the outsourcing of the Government Telephone Network (Long Distance)
