Working as a telecommunications management consultant and project manager John Taylor has completed over four hundred assignments for organisations large and small, in both private and public sectors. He uses this experience to help his clients obtain best value from their communications systems and services. In addition to the influencing and communicating skills needed for this role he has extensive knowledge of telecommunications systems and network planning - from the business user perspective.

He provides impartial advice and practical assistance across the whole range of voice and data communications - from the earliest strategic planning stages through feasibility studies, option appraisal, operational requirements, design and specification, tendering and tender evaluation, procurement, contract negotiation, project management of implementation and audits of performance in service. John Taylor is practised in the design and presentation of management and technical training in telecommunications.

CURRENT EXPERIENCE

Recent projects have included :

- Strategic Planning and Implementation of a hybrid TDM/IP network for a District Council.

- Strategic Planning of IP migration for a City Council.

- Specfication and Procurement of an IP solution for a Professional Institute, including a Call Centre.

- Design, Procurement and Project Management of a multi-node IP network for a College of Further Education.

- Specification, Procurement and Project Management of a new 4000 extension Hospital telephone system and ancillary systems and services.

- Project Management of new communications facilities for a national Research Institute - on two sites.

- Tariff and Cost Studies for several clients in Health, Local Government and Education.

John Taylor is experienced in all forms of public procurement, including the various EC procedures, and Government and NHS Framework agreements.

John Taylor is a Director of the CMA, Leader of the CMA Consultancy Forum, and a past Chairman of the Telecommunications Industry Association Special Interest Group for Registered Consultancies. He has tutored for the Management Diploma in Telecommunications and the Certificate of Call Centre Management.
