CMA warns lack of superfast broadband is hampering UK business innovation.

'UK businesses are constrained to current generation broadband through a significant lack of availability of super-fast broadband. Current business planning for superfast broadband is limited, as is the ambition to use the service as a platform to generate new revenue opportunities.  A 'safety-first' attitude based upon business efficiency rather than opportunity and innovation is clearly revealed by respondents to the survey.' Telecoms businesses believe Ofcom should provide framework for investment in NGA - CMA survey

14 July 2009:

The vast majority of telecoms businesses (nine out of 10) believe Ofcom should provide the regulatory framework to support investment in next generation access (NGA) networks. Only 28 per cent of those recently surveyed by the Communications Management Association (CMA), part of the BCS Group, agreed that market-led initiatives would be sufficient to ensure the full rollout of next generation access.

Carbon Intent Guidelines

23 April 2009:

The Carbon Intent Guidelines are the results of CMA's project into the use of IT in home-working and tele-conferencing. Supported by the Carbon Trust, the Project surveyed 84 communications user organisations and examined in depth 4 case studies; HSBC, the Immigration Advisory Service, Atkins and Bristol City Council.

CMA launches Telecoms Manifesto to kick-start economic recovery

24 February 2009:

CMA (Communications Management Association) has launched its first Manifesto setting out a 5-point action plan aimed at helping the UK out of the recession. It calls upon the current and future governments to put ICT at the heart of economic recovery in order to breathe life into UK enterprise and the national economy.

UK must implement high performance telecommunications

According to findings in the latest CMA survey, 94% of businesses believe that the UK needs a high performance telecommunications infrastructure in every part of the country in order for the UK to compete on a global basis.  CMA, part of the BCS group, is the representative body for business users of communication, networks and services.
