We, IT professionals, would like to see in the not too distant future; our profession treated on a par with those of lawyers, doctors, accountants and engineers. Today we are perhaps not even as well regarded - in professional terms - as plumbers or electricians. They at least have to obtain a professional certificate in order to operate!
It is gratifying that the stated ambition of BCS is to lead IT as the profession of the 21st century and to build IT professionalism to the level seen to exist in other areas of professional activity.
